Micron Technology, the manufacturer of the chips in the last gigabyte or so
of $20 128 MB sticks I bought, labels its chips as follows:

"-6" = 60 nsec access time,

"-5" = 50 nsec access time,

"-0" = Untested, and

"-A" = Untested, as well.

All of the above are usually on a separate line which follows the basic chip
part number, such as ...

"mT 4LC16M4G3
" -5"

... which means a 64 Mbit (16Mbit by 4 bit) 3.3 volt DRAM chip, FPM in this
case, which has been tested and is 50 nsec access time or better. "mT" is
Micron Technology's logo.

Other chip manufacturers use a similar system.

I have never received any 128 MB sticks from either OWC or VU which contained
untested chips.

Peter.
