Do you have the drivers for the card?
If no one has changed the card, it should run perfectly, using the XLR8 drivers.
There are some free drivers.
There are also some drivers that cost money.
Perhaps drivers is not the right name:
On my machine (XLR8 card installed) there is an XLR8 control panel, and an XLR8
extension.
