Hi all; I just tried to boot my Beige G3, my 6230CD and my Performa 6360 from a Performa 7.5CD and "no soap". I tried the whole 9 yards, held down the "C" key, then held the command, shift, option, delete keys and even selected the CD in the startup control panel. Command, shift, option, delete gives a flashing "?" mark. The "C" key and control panel result in a startup in 8.6. The G3 requires a minimum system of OS8 and the 6360 and the 6230 requires a minimum OS of 7.5.1. Conclusion is that you can't startup from a lower OS version than the required minimum. BTW, what series Mac are we talking about here? I was late getting in on this. HTH --Thanks; Rev.
