Mikie and Chris, Aside from size are you saying that OS 8.6, which I'm using (412 RAM) is also notable for being more RAM hungry than even OS 9.x as well? The reason I ask is that I'm helping a newbie, also with a 9500. Her 9500 has OS 9 installed but with only 64 MB of RAM. All I've got so faris a good vibe from OS 8.6 since I installed it last Monday, but this week tempting OS 9 and updates are arriving on CD from a friend in Michigan. She speaks more highly of OS 9 but then she's using a G4 with 500 MHz as opposed to mine and my friends 132 . . . Will OS 9 make the road from my song demo tapes to MP3s significantly less time consuming as far as tracking down the requisite elements and be more advantageous in the final analysis than OS 8.6? OS 8.6 gives me that secure 7.6.1 felling that I know so well so I'd just as soon stay right here.
