Yes it will more than double the speed and usability, though if you pop a voodoo 3 or voodoo 5 card in there as well to help speed up 2d graphics your windows and scrolling will improve even more. Voodoo 2 doesn't have 2d accelleration so don't get one of those for a slower G3.
I've got a 6500/250 with a G3/400 512 and by scores on Norton's System check test..... can't remember exactly what its called it scores about 3 times better than a stock machine. Actually if you can.... try and get a 1 meg backside cache. a 260 with 1 meg will "feel" almost as fast as a 400/512 as far as every day use goes at least my 300/1M does. Of course the faster processor helps when doing photoshop work but for browsing and such you won't see much difference.... definately pop a G3 in there.... if not get a voodoo 5, voodoo 3 if you have the zip drive in the upper bay because the power supply doesn't like to support the zip and the voodoo 5 at the same time...... been there done that.... have the t-shirt.... Happily all G3 or better now ;D Hamlet 7200 with 7300 guts/ G3 300/1M Voodoo 5 6500 G3 400/512k Voodoo 3 9500 G3 450/1M Voodoo 2 G4/733 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >Hi, > >2 questions here, and I hope you'll forgive the mild detour one provide, >because it's not for a PCI PPC strictly.
