Hi Kyle,
There are three good versions of the Voodoo3 flasher and drivers, depending on which OS you are using. For OS8.1 the best is the Voodoob11, for 8.6 Voodoob12 or b13, for OS9 either b12 or b13. I am using b13 on 8.6 because the latest version of Diablo II LoD 1.0.9d works better with it, otherwise I would have stayed with b12. Another reason I am on b13 is that I have just put a Voodoo5 onboard and I can use one set of drivers for both cards (I don't dare to run b12 and 13 together, I guess 1 of the 2 would be disabled). I am also waiting for a Radeon to substitute the Voodoo3 and I am wondering what kind of improvement should I expect. I will try to dig out the older drivers if you need them. Let me know Cheers Andrea P.S.: Voodoo 2 cards can work either with Macs or PCs. mac versions come with db15 connectors, PC versions with HD15 (VGA) connectors, that's the only difference. Voodoo2 cards will give you only 3D acceleration and neeed a resident 2D card. If you have PCI slots to spare and a couple of VGA adaptors installing a V2 card can be a bargain to play older games on a low end mac, otherwise it is a waste of money and time (IMO). > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Sun, 5 May 2002 16:57:19 EDT > Subject: Re: Can any PCI Voodoo card be used > > > In a message dated 5/5/02 3:20:00 PM, > [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > > << Can one of you guys send me the Flashing utility? > I have a Voodoo 3 > sitting here, > and I have looked online for the util, but all the > links I find are dead. > >> > > http://www.sollitaire.com/applevoodoo/Voodoo3Drivers_beta13_c3.sit > > They are there the flashing utility is included in > the archive. > > Hamlet __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
