Although I loathe IDE/ATA myself, you would be much better served with IDE/ATA than SCSI based on the words "substantial ... space" and "budget" in your post. You can get an ATA/66 or ATA/100 card and a substantial ATA/100 hard drive (40 GB+) for the cost of a SCSI hard drive half the size. I suggest never buying a used hard drive. Hard drives have limited lifespans as it is, so buying them used only brings you that much closer to the end. Other World Computing (no affiliation) is currently running pretty good deals on ATA cards and drives in their Mail List specials. For under $160 you could add 80GB of UltraATA/66 storage or 40GB of UltraATA/100 storage. Try: http://eshop.macsales.com/Specials/Maillist.cfm Compare that to their cheapest (non-SCA) 18 GB SCSI drive, which is itself $120. I am currently ordering one of these (Ultra160 10k RPM IBM Deskstar 18LZX), but I already have the proper LVD controller and less demand for space than you seem to have. -- --Chris PM 7500/604e 200Mhz 4 gig SCSI 256 megs OS 8.6 (This machine rocks!) -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
