It seems older Macs in general do this. Have you let it sit for awhile and 
see if it comes back? You could try giving more memory to Netscape, might 
help, especially if you're noticing it freeze up on bigger, fancier web sites.

No clue about the USB, make sure you're using the latest USB drivers. You 
could try giving more memory to... well, not sure what to give more memory 
to for printing. Maybe the Print Spooler extension? You also might try 
letting that sit for a bit. Sometimes when things start furiously 
transferring around it can look like it's frozen when it's really just 
communincating.

Yeah, try upping the memory to Netscape, and tweak the cache. Clear it 
completely too.
