Hi, Kyle.

Just a random guess.  Does the noise sound as if it might be coming from a 
fan or some other kind of motor?  As fans and other kinds of electric motor 
get older, sometimes they take a few seconds to get up to speed.

If you have a fan or other motor with worn bearings that vibrate as it gets 
up to speed, it might go "duh.".  If that is the case, nothing to worry 
about unless the noise becomes constant, in which case the fan (or other 
motor) needs to be located and either repaired or replaced.

Either that or your Mac has developed a serious inferiority complex.
