Hello I finally got a PCI "riser card" from a 6500/6400 into my 20th Anniversary Mac (TAM). The TAM is now successfully connected to two PCI cards: a Radeon 7000 Video and a Farallon 100BT Ethernet card. I'm composing this message on the external monitor and sending it via the Ethernet connection.
As hinted on the TAM forums at tam.axon.net, use of the PCI riser required removal of the hard drive and fan bracket, and also would require considerable physical modification of my Comm Slot II card. Additionally, I need to consider power supply issues, since the TAM was never designed for three cards, and TAMs have marginal convection cooling problems as designed. However, having 2 PCI + 1 CSII active is worthy of pursuit. Thanks to CK for selling me his riser card with patience, and also to others who responded with encouragement and curiosity. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
