I add:
In my 16"Apple monitor and others there is a big black dial type knob
named HSTAT.  Leaning over my monitor from the back I adjust it until
the reddish neon-like glow is not showing on either side of my trash can.
The adjust knob sends it sort of out from behind the can on one side or the
other, i.e., a verticle thing.  I adjust it so that it is as hidden as can be.

I have a Claris 4 or A/W 5 DR page with circles and arrows of all the inner
adjustments on my 16" that I could send you off list if you like.
