Finally got back online !! Thought that I would never see the light of cyberland
again !!

After many hours of backing up, reformatted the 6GB IDE drive, as someone suggested
(low-level). Then installed OS 8.5, updated to OS 8.6, as a test. Booted fine. Got
rid of
OS 8.6, and put OS 9.1 on instead, and that's when problems began !!!

Many, many error messages asking to insert IDE drive, which is strange, because it was
already connected ! Was the machine wanting OS 8.6 back ? Found out that I could use
"Command - Period" to get back to the Desktop, sometimes, but many times that did not
work even.

After much frustration, and fiddling around, finally got the machine to boot from the
6GB
IDE drive with OS 9.1, but still not without major problems. Many crashes, freezing,
blank screen (grayish-white), no happy face, but did hear the "Good Startup Note."
Restarted, restarted, restarted, etc. OS 9.1 CD would not boot. Finally, gave up.
Came
back and the machine booted ! Sometimes from OS 8.6, sometimes from OS 9.1.
Choosing the startup drive did not seem to help at all.

Tried disconnecting either IDE drive, finally was able to see all three internal
drives, and
transfer files some more, and format IDE 40GB drive. Haven't installed a System on the
40GB yet. Wondering if that will conflict with the other Systems on the 1GB SCSI (OS
8.6) and the 6GB (OS 9.1) ?

Obviously, my 7300 is up and running, as I am online, and typing this message. All of
my
files seem to be intact, and accessible. External USB HD is working . . . . Knock on
wood !!

The SIIG technician warned me that I may experience "Wierd things," with this ATA card
!! Is this normal, or did I mess something up ? I only did a Low-Level format on both
6GB and 40GB IDE HDs.

Is there anything else that I can do to insure a stable environment ? I still have
not yet run
Norton, TechTool Pro, or Disk Warrior.

for you with the SIIG Card and booting off the internal IDE drives?
