Tried to install OS 7.5.3, 7.5.5, and 7.6 on a 2GB external Apple SCSI HD, but get
these error
messages :
1 - "The System Software 7.5 Installer Script does not recognize this Macintosh.
Please use the
original disks that came with your computer. The Installer cannot update the version
of Macintosh
System Software on the disk named "^0". Please remove the System F."
2 - "Mac OS 7.6 does not support this computer. Please refer to the documentation
accompanying this
System Software release.
3 - Not Supported, cannot modify a disk in an unsupported drive (message window from
HD Setup).

I successfully initialized the 2GB SCSI external Apple HD, then did a low-level
format, also
successfully. But still cannot install OS 7.5.3, 7.5.5, or 7.6. According to the Apple
specs these
Systems do work with the PowerMac 7300.

How can I get one of these Systems installed on the external HD ?
