Last year I bought a "Speedy" bus accelerator from the guy who now sells
what is left of MicroMac. <www.macupgradespecialists.com> I used it on
my 8100, 7100 and 9600. There were drawings for ID of the 7100 and 8100
clock crystals, but I had to hunt around for the correct one on my 9600.
Generally, you can accelerate the bus speed of PCI Macs, but you have
to find the right clock chip (there are sometimes many), or you have to
know how to solder very small resistors (to change the bus speed of the
stock 9600 CPU card).

The "Speedy" worked well on the 8100 but caused serial and SCSI problems
on the 7100 and 9600 when I went to fast.

Sincerely yours, Grizzlygiant
