Hello, I have been on IOMUG for some time now and have just discovered you. I have previously presented my problem there, but no solution. May I try you all? My system is 7300/200, I have been using a cable modem for 5 years now. In February @home ended and for me @cox came to be. Since that time I have had consistent connectivity problems. Naturally from Cox Corporate it had to be me, my software, my hardware, etc. No matter what was tried, I would not hold an IP address. MY computer has physically been taken from my home five times. The last time to Mad Macs. When it was returned to me, I did not recognize it. The primary drive had been cleaned reformatted and 9.1 a clean installation. A router was put between the system and modem. It also lost the IP.
Does anyone have a clue for me? I have lost almost everything I had, from three drives. I was told my programs were backed up to the external, but I would have to reload each one from the original, good luck as I have no clue to where most of them are. The computer and printer do not know one another, and the external would not show up on the desktop. I must say I was warned to not let Cox take my system, but felt obliged???
