The other day I launched a hypercard stack under system 9.1 on my PM
8500. This may well be the first time I've run hypercard since upgrading
the system. The stack opened v-e-r-y slowly and the disk drive was
cranking away, constantly alternating read/write.

I quit hypercard, then relaunched the application in case the particular
stack was the problem. Same thing. The drive seems to be stuck in a
loop. It continues to crank away until I quit. Typing command-period has
no effect, so I don't think it is a script or compacting issue.

Is anyone familiar with issues regarding hypercard (version 2.4) and OS
9.1?

Thanks!

Hutch
