Tony,

Just wanted to make sure you have done the following:

Zap the pram: on startup hold down the command, option, p,r keys (until you
hear the bong at least 3x)

trying booting with the shift key down (turns off extensions, maybe that
game your son was using installed an incompatible extension)

hold down the space bar on bootup. That enables the "extensions manager" to
load and you can choose "mac os9 all" (works only if the monitor comes back
up)
