Greetings! I got an used Performa 6200CD throwed in the other day when I bought a used apple 16". On the front of the 6200, to the right of the floppy slot and above the soundvolume-buttons, there's something that resembles an infrared port (24x10 mm). Did apple ship the 6200's with such? I can't find any traces in the form of drivers, control panels or extensions that is handles infrared communication. What, if this actually is an IrDA-port, do I need in drivers etcetera to use it with my Palm? The machine is running on OS 8.1 a system I don't have much experience of as I run my other macs (quadras and a duo) on 7.6. I belive that the former owner of the 6200 (an optical laboratory) has lightened the systemweight by removing extensions and control panels that was not in use. At least the extension manager tells me extensions are missing. Missing pieces in the jigsaw puzzle? Is OS 8.1 prepared for infrared communication?
What on earth can it otherwise be? Curiously yours/ Jonee -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
