That is a D.A.V. (Digital Audio and Video?) card slot for a technology that never really got going. I believe there were a few high dollar D.A.V. cards for specialized applications, but I'm not familiar with their exact uses and I haven't heard anyone speak of the technology in years.
The GeoPorts used by that model were the Printer and Modem ports via a "Geoport" adapter. This acted as a modem via the software interface. In its time it actually was a good FAX/modem system. It's 33.6KB speed limit is what finally killed it. I ran one for years on my old 840 AV. David Allen "Robert P.
