Many thanks to Kevin and the rest of you that offered suggestions to get my Mac
running again. I found the cuda button, but it did not help. By the way,
what is the correct way to reset the cuda? Since the button is within the
computer will it reset with the power off, or are you supposed to reach in there
with it running???

I will still get a new battery. The picture on the mac guru site is a great
help. At least the link to the motherboard will help me become familiar with
and identify the goodies within.....

At any rate the fix..... I received the new VGA to Mac adapter today. It has a
setting for "Plug and Play". I set the dip switches to that setting and the
monitor was alive in no time. Now a resolution question. The ENVISION factory
setting recommendation appears to be 1280 x 1024, 60 Hz. My only choices in
the Monitors control panel, which will list only the "recommended" settings,
are 1024 x 768, 75 Hz; 800 x 600, 75 Hz or 640 x 480, 60 Hz. Which is the best
to use or is it a matter of visual preference?

Thanks again for all your help.
