If you turn off all of XP's extra.. ermm.. junk (themes, fading menus, etc etc) then as long as you have enough memory it should work fine. A decent 2D graphics card wouldn't hurt either. With all the extra eye candy and unneeded services turned off XP isn't all that much slower than Win2k. I'd still rather use my Mac though ;)
