As you may or may not know, I've been having problems getting OS 9.1 to
recognize an 8500 I built, I have OS 8.1 installed on it currently and
the Apple System Profiler sees it as an 7600 series. I have been under
the assumption that I have an 8500 motherboard but when I looked at the
take apart instructions, the part number assigned to the mother board
was not the same as the part number on the board. The board shows a
part number 820-0752-A, The take apart instructions show part numbers
661-1784 and 661-1153.
Can anybody tell me what I've got? (I'm beginning to think that I have
a 7600 motherboard, Or a bad 8500 mother board.)
One more question: did the 7600 support the same A/V card as the 8500?
Thanks in advance.
