I'm having serious problems with Office 98's Word and Excel.

The problems are:

1) Word starts up OK and I can type into a new or old document, but when I try to copy
from or paste to the document, Word quits with a Type 1 error.

2) If I try to launch Excel, the computer -- including even the cursor -- freezes
while the info box (splash screen?) is still open.

The problems only occur when my startup volume is the new one containing OS 9.1, not
my old one containing OS 8.6.

The problems happen regardless of which copies of the Office programs I use.

I tried copying everything that appeared to be Microsoft-related from the Extensions
and Preferences folders in the good system folder to their counterparts in the bad
one. Still no luck.

I'm more concerned immediately with getting Word to work than Excel.

Any ideas?

 - Aaron

P.S. I'm using a PTP with a Sonnet G3/450/1M. The 8.6 folder is on an external SCSI
drive that I've been using for ages. The 9.1 folder is on an internal ATA133 drive run
by a Sonnet Tempo ATA66 card. I had sometimes had other problems running the external
SCSI when the Sonnet Processor Upgrade extension was active, but the problems
described above occurred even witth the Sonnet extension turned off.
