Did you install all the upgrades/patches after installing office? There are 4 or 5 patches for the original install.
Did you do the usual "increase memory by 20-30%" for all Micro$oft apps trick? Office works fine on my machine under 9.2 as it did under 9.0 and 9.1. Hope these tips cure your problem.
