I picked one of the Sonnet 800 Mhz Crescendo PCI processor upgrade cards and
hope to hear how others are making out too. I put it into my Daystar Genesis
MP 800+ clone and am very pleased with the speed boost....
In terms of speed contrast I suppose it would have been better if I'd stuck
it into a SLOWER PCI Mac but the 800 Mhz Daystar was my only PCI mac.
If I get a chance I'll pick up a cheap 9600 off eBay to put this thing into
and restore the Genesis to its original configuration.
I had a few problems at first....right after installation...but they were
not problems with the card but problems with my hard drive, dying PRAM
battery, and flakey monitor.
This is a cheap upgrade. As in inexpensive. Get a G4 for $375.00 !!!
