I got this off of Accelerate Your Macintosh:

Sonnet G4/800 CPU Card Upgrade - Not Virtual PC
Compatible? - (from a 'Rate Your CPU Upgrade' database
report today)

" Sonnet G4/800 in 8600/200
Comments:
" I'm sending this back. I could live with AOL 5.0 not
working, as I read in another report. But when I found
out that VirtualPC 5 won't work either, that was it.
There's a readme in the Sonnet software installer that
says "VPC 4" doesn't work. The problem seems to be
that VPC 4 and 5 don't recognize that there's any kind
of G3 or G4 card installed. Neither does Apple System
Profiler (shows up as a 604e at 550mHz), Norton 6,
MacBench 3, etc. The only application I had that
recognizes the card is the bundled Sonnet "metronome"
app. Sonnet has to do something about this before I
will reconsider this card.

Beyond this, the installation was uneventful and there
were no freezes (other than AOL) in brief testing. But
I can't say I saw a speed improvement over the
NewerTech G3 500 card which I was replacing and which
is now back in service. The NewerTech card is rock
solid, runs all software, and feels just as fast as my
Sawtooth G4 400. I expected the Sonnet to blow it away
so I'm disappointed. I was unable to get benchmark
results for the Sonnet because Norton et al didn't
recognize the card type and when I ran the Norton
benchmark anyway I got a result slower than a G3 300.

I rate this card a 4 and the NewerTech card a 10. The
low rating for the Sonnet is entirely due to the fact
that two major applications are incompatible with it.
If Sonnet can fix this problem I might try the card
again.
Other machine details: ATTO ultra/wide SCSI, Sonnet
Tango Firewire/USB, IXMicro Ultimate Rez, 704Mb RAM,
AV option.
