Hi Everybody!
I've got a 7500, 256MB, OS9.1, G3-450 booting off a 2GB Conner HD
set to SCSI ID 0 in the upper bay.

I'm trying to install a new 80-pin Western Digital hard drive in the
lower bay. I bought the 80 to 50 adapter and a power
extender so everything wires-up okay. It is replacing another
Western Digital 4.3GB drive that worked fine in that lower bay.

Problem is, that the new drive does not show up in the formatting
software. I tried FWB Hard disk toolkit, Intech hard disk speed tools,
and Apple's Drive Setup. Nada! It doesn't even show up in Apple
system profiler.

It is set for SCSI ID 4, same as the drive it's replacing.
I tried it with the ID set on the front of the drive, with the ID set on the
80-to-50 adapter, and with both set to ID 4. No luck. The LED is on
for several seconds at spinup, blinks several times and then turns off.
My boot drive does the same thing, so I guess that's normal.
Any suggestions?
Joe
