I am having a problem with a particular encyclopaedia CD. When I insert it, and click on the icon to start the app, it goes through the opening intro titles, then the whole system freezes, and I have to do the "three-finger salute" to get started again. The only thing I can think is that it doesn't like QuickTime 6, which I upgraded to from QT5 a couple of weeks ago. Everything else seems to work fine.
I notice on the CD that it includes QT3. When I try to install the CD contents on my HD, the main application and data install fine, then it tries to install QT3. Should I allow it to, or would this cause further problems for my system? Should I resign myself to simply not using this CD anymore? Any advice would be appreciated. Oh yes, my system: PM7600/G3 400/512, OS 8.6. TIA Chris Gleeson Wawa, Ontario http://wawa.cc -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
