I would suspect that with the unaided human eye yoou will not notice any
difference for MOST of the normal computing events that occur on your monitor.
I pulled a 8-meg Twin Turbo and put in a 64-meg 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 and the
normal appearance of windows and desktop remained unaltered.

Running accelerated programs was where the extra video ram came in handy.

Download MacProphecy, MacChrome, MacTunnels and 3DParticles and keep them
handy. I have these four screensaver-type applications on my desktop and use
them to test and compare video cards.

Speaking of which, ATI is flogging the Radeon 7000 Mac Edition for either
$199.00, $129.00, or $79.00 depending on how you access their site.

In order to get the card for seventy-nine bucks you have to order it over the
internet and send them any old video card as a trade-in.

I ordered one on Monday of this week and expect it to be delivered today.

I ordered the ATI Radeon 7000 because I'd like to install Jaguar on this old
Daystar Genesis and the 3dfx Voodoo5 is not compatible....
