Hi,
as suggested on this list, you have to download the 2940UW 4.1 flash
utility from the Macgurus ftp site.
The Adaptec site says these PC cards won't work on a Mac, but with this
utility mine was flashed correctly and works.  
However, I couldn't get the synchronous mode (checked with Adaptec
PowerDomain Control) unless I open first the Atto Express Pro utility
(that scans the SCSI buses). I don't know the reason for this.
