I have been unable recently to use drag-and-drop when the intended dropping place is a
Eudora (v. 5.0.1) or Tex-Edit Plus (v. 4.0) window. I can use it when the destination
is the Desktop or a Finder, BBEdit, File Buddy or SimpleText window, among others.

Ironically, I had earlier had a similar problem, but with the Finder as drag
destination and not other applications. That was solved by getting rid of Sonnet
Processor Upgrade extension, as I explained in detail in an earlier post to this list.
I think I had solved the current problem once (along with frequent Finder crashes) by
trashing Finder Preferences, but doing that doesn't seem to be working now.

Another problem I have now is that, when I put the system to sleep for a long time, it
crashes when I try to wake it up. It may at times have crashed while asleep, but in
the latest incident the time the clock froze at was the time I woke it, and the bomb
box didn't appear till seconds after wake-up. A possibly related occurrence: Sometimes
when I shut down, I get an "Error -1856" message. I can't seem to locate that error
number in any of the references (hard or soft) that I have.

I am, BTW, using OS 9.1 on a Power Tower Pro. For the last week, the Sonnet Card has
been away on a visit to the Sonnet folxs for emergency medical treatment, so I've been
using the original Power Computing 604e/250 card.
