I have just upgraded Eudora 5.1 to 5.2b15 (beta). Now I seem to have the problem of the letters appearing on-screen with a big lag as I type... can't really use it this way.
Ideas? I've bumped memory to 12000k; this seemed to cure it for a few minutes, but it came back. Then I rechecked the memory settings (in case it hadn't stayed the way I set it) and it was fine again. I note that the thing refused to overwrite the 5.1 copy, instead adding the new version, which does however use the existing mailboxes etc. When you set it to install over the existing version, should it not do this automatically? Instead you get a choice box wanting you to select a folder; then another folder and so on, until you run out of choices, because the item you want to overwrite (Eudora!) does NOT appear as an option!! So now, in case the problem is the existing 5.1 interfering, I will delete this (keeping the installer in case).
