A friend of mine has a Beige G3 tower, a 300MHz machine. He's experienced
some problems, so I instructed him to get what he should have had from the
beginning: a start-up CD so he can repair any disk issues, and repair the
operating system, too.

He says that the OS 9 CD (it is not designed specifically for any one model)
will not recognize his hard drive. He says when starting up the machine from
the disc, the hard drive to his machine simply does not show up.

Any ideas what could be the problem? (I've had problems with SCSI hd's, but
have never had to deal with IDE drives...)
