I'm having a hell of a time getting my "new" 7300 64/180 w/ 8.1 onto the internet via Cox Cable internet. I just found that they recommend 8.5 and up, but is 8.5 really different from 8.1 in this respect? The setup is exactly the same in the book and on my computer. I am wondering because I still hear of people, particularly those on the "Classic Mac" newslist who are able to access the internet via cable or modem and I'm sure they aren't using 8.5 :-) . Or maybe I'm misinformed. Anyway, before I plunk down cash for 8.5 (which will probably happen soon anyway), can 8.1 be used or configured for cable internet? Any advice would be appreciated. .............................Mike T.
