Yep, right on the money. That slot doesn't get used. It's another "just in case we need it" slot put in by Apple. DO NOT try to put a SIMM in that slot. There is no telling what kind of electrical damage you might do to the mother board.
Did you put a 7200 series L-2 Cache SIMM in the Cache slot? An L-2 card is all that can go there. The basic is a 256 K size, and I'm not sure if any of the larger (512K - 1 Meg) will fit and or work in the 7200. I'm also not sure if the 7200 can use the L-2 Cache SIMMs from any of the other PPC series. (Anyone have a reference for interchange of L-2 Cache SIMMs in the PPCs?) The best thing I've found about the 7200 is the ease of upgrading. (I changed one to a 7600 and except for the numbers on the case cover, no one can tell it from my factory 7600s.) It shares all of the case parts with the 75/7600 and even uses the same power supply. Grab a 7500/7600 motherboard with CPU and you get a much faster and more easily upgraded to G-3/G-4 PPC that even has AV capabilities. (Video in via S-video or RCA jack and stereo audio in/out via RCA jacks if you also pick up the AV card assembly that plugs into the 75/7600 MB.)
