I am actually working on just such a thing. I have a 10GB software archive, mainly for Mac OS X, Newton, and PowerPC with a little 68K. I would like to expand it to Linux, NeXT, and UNIX. Several friends of mine from the MUG I started in college have also been interested in helping.
The end vision is to have a public database driven website that is relatively up to date and hosts all the files locally. The counter part to this is an archive of 800+ HTML formatted news articles. The project started a couple years back as my personal archive of often used updates and freeware and has just grown. After starting the MUG is jumped from maybe 1.5GB to 10GB in about a year and a half. If anyone is interested in helping please email me. David On Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at 07:24 PM, Martin A.
