Sorry for the slow reply. Held off since I have a G4 "Yikes", but I think the PCI slot that the oem ATi card comes in, is the same or very similar. On the Yikes, that slot is 66Mhz, while the other three are 33Mhz.
ALSO ... there is a voltage difference I believe. I'm sure I've read that, but can't find the info now. That slot carries a different voltage than the other three. Whatever card you decide on must match that voltage to use the faster slot. The ATi Radeon 7000 for Mac is variable voltage and will work in either the 33Mhz or 66Mhz slot according to ATi. I put a 7000 in a 33Mhz slot along w/the oem Rage card left in the 66Mhz slot. Running OS 9.2.2 on the Yikes. They both worked either singly or w/a CRT monitor on each. I pulled the OEM card about a week ago. Then put the Radeon card into the 66Mhz slot. Only 1 problem so far. Tried to play "Civilization II", and the bondi light desk top went to bright LIME green. W/bright yellow or orange windows/dialogs, and red menus. Seems like a bit of a conflict ... Beside that, no other issues yet. Lastly, take a look at this comparison at BareFeats http://www.barefeats.com/gr7000.html The old Mac Edition diffidently looks stronger, but is no longer sold new. good fortune ...
