I have a 7500 with a 604e processor and a Beige G3 DT and I have had a
series of bad luck and now they will not power up. It started when I had a
power failure last night and some surges which was kind of scary due to the
smoke coming from mainly the surge protectors. The only thing affected in
the beginning was my Beige G3 DT, as it just will not power up. But the
surge protector for it was unaffected, so I was surprised to not be able to
power it up; all the peripherals connected were not unaffected. The 7500
was completely shut off, so it was not affected. I have a PC also but it
was not affected even though the surge protector connected to it was fried
and smoking.

So I decided to see if the internal parts to the Beige G3 were working and
the internal scsi HD was working , as I tested it in the 7500. I then
decided to see if the iX micro video card still worked and put that in the
7500 but after that I had problems with the 7500. It would power on but
not startup at first, not even the sound came on. I finally got it to
startup on a boot CD. But it just wouldn't boot into the Hard drive. I
decided to change batteries but after I did that, it wouldn't even power on
now. I tried 3 different batteries. I also tried disconnecting the power
supply to the motherboard.

So now I have 2 Mac's which don't work. I was happy when I had the 7500 as
a back up but now I don't even have that. I wonder if putting the iX video
PCI card did some damage. Any ideas? I have to say I am absolutely sick, as
I have alot of hardware upgrade in my Beige G3 DT. I loved that computer.
