It shouldn't. I boot fine, directly into X.

Try the following:

1) When in OSX, select your OSX volume as the startup disk in the 
System Preferences. It may be this simple.

2) If you have the latest version of XPostFacto, fire it up under OSX. 
The only thing you can do is reinstall the boot extensions, but that 
might be your problem, if they've gotten messed up.

3) There's a delay setting in the menu for XPostFacto. You may need to 
set it longer.

Finally, if you pay $10 to Ryan, via the link on the XPostFacto web 
site, you get access to the XPostFacto support forums there. Well worth 
it, snce you will often get an answer from people who've had exactly 
the problem you're having, and often an answer from Ryan himself.

If you consider $10 to be worth getting OSX running on your system, 
without you spending hours and hours futzing, it's cheap. I know MY 
time is worth more than  that...
