Toss your QT preferences. I'd also uninstall all the QT extensions and 
re-install QT 5. Also toss and re-install your video drivers. Depending 
on your video there may be extensions enabled that you don't need.

If it were memory or a hard drive, this would be happening in all 
programs...as it is it sounds like it's only happening when a program 
is using a QT Library.
