As for the modem, I got him a Global Village 56k fax modem and updated 
the rom. It connects at between 45 and 48k, and seems to work quite 
nicely with Netscape 4.79. Dad was impressed with the speed of it once I 
got a few TCP/IP issues settled with the provider. 

The A/V capabilities of this machine did intrigue him a bit, but 
unfortunately, I know nothing about those RCA jacks, and I missed your 
post regarding them. Could you or someone else either forward it to me or 
point me to a website with info on using them?
