I dont know how much of a diffence there might be in different manufacturers "accelerator card " software like powerlogix or Sonnet BUT I do recall in my powerlogix G3 upgrade card manual, it mentioned that the Apple System Profiler's rating is incorrect when compared to the ACTUAL speed of the CPU.
