Anyone got any experience using firewire-to-IDE adaptors (such as
http://www.caloptic.com/fwint.html) to put cheaper/faster CD-R/DV-RW drives
in their old PowerMacs? I'm figuring these would be a great way to replace
the 12x CD-ROM and 2xCD-R in my 9600 with a much faster CD-ROM and DVD-RW
unit, while still keeping everything internal (it's a big case, so use it!.

Incidentally, will a Pioneer DVD-RW unit a la the Superdrive work in a G4
upgraded 9600 (with a suitable Firewire card/FW-IDE converter or IDE card)?

Cheers, Ben.
