The 4400 should be able to use a faster burner without any problem. A 24x burner is well within the capabilities of the plain old scsi in powermacs. Even a 32x burner is theoretically under the 5MB/second transfer limit of the plain scsi standard. CD drives are slow relative to hard drives, and almost any recent hard drive (past four years) is going to outrun it. > I have an 8x internal in my Starmax.
