I think the USB 2 drive will function, BUT, it will Not run at USB 2 speeds. It will (if it runs) run at usb 1 speed, which is sloow.
Better: get a firewire drive with the oxford 911 chip-set. www.OtherWorldComputing.com has oxford 911 firewire drives.
