9.0.4 was considered fairly unstable by many users so consider yourself lucky! 9.1 is by far thought to be the better OS for stability. My wife's iMac had lot's of problems under 9.0.4 and has been rock solid on 9.1. I never had 9.0.4 on my 9500 but went from 8.1 to 9.1 and it's been fine.
