I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion, but it'd have to be a toss up between: Power Macintosh 8500/8600AV.... full complement of S-VHS and composite A/V connections, can capture 16 bit video with 4MB VRAM installed and output both video or desktop to composite output. Considering what video digitizing boards cost at the time, it was a damn powerful machine for a pretty good price. Can be easily found today for excellent prices. A great workhorse machine. Quadra 840av.... not quite as powerful but contained a DSP system that offered some surprisingly powerful capabilities in regards to QuickTime video. Very desirable on the used market these days and somewhat hard to come by. Twentieth Anniversary Mac... couldn't export video (only capture) but more than justified by standard onboard TV/FM tuner connections, composite/SVHS connections, funky vertical CD-ROM unit, 12.1" flat panel LCD monitor and of course the best 2.1 speaker system built in any computer system, courtesy of Bose, no less. A true collector's item, though last minute liquidation by Apple in 1998 means prices will remain very reasonable for some time. Ben. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
