I'm glad to "hear" changing the monitor setting resolved the problem. I've not yet had the chance to fiddle with any of the Mac clones, but if they're set up the same way the CUDA button is a small red or brown push button on the logic board, usually near the processor slot. You may need to use a probe or Q-tip or something to get to it because on some Macs, like the 7500/7600..., the heatsink of the processor card is in the way. With the computer off press it once for ten seconds to reset the board. > No I do not have an upgrade card in my machine but that is my >>> next step. I am looking at the G3 upgrade cards. > Some of the g3 cards are under $100 new, even cheaper used. I'd suggest buying new though in case the card turns out defective and you need to return it. I have xlr8 cards in my Macs but they're out of business now. Macsales.com has good selection and prices, but shop around. Another performance booster is to get a faster hard drive. I recently added a 30GB 7200 rpm Maxtor to my 9600 via an ATA card and it gave almost as dramatic a boost as adding the g4/450 processor. And it's nice and quiet, though that doesn't mean a whole lot in a noise box like the 9600. Watch for the rebate sales on hard drives at places like Staples. -+-+-+- RPM -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
