One of the reasons I tested from each drive to ram and to each other, both ways, except from ram (didn't even think of it), is to see what anomolies show up, etc. Since I (still) haven't done the math, it hasn't yet been hammered into me to memorize what is MB/sec and which is Mb/sec, and I do know how important it is.
I knew they all basically advertise the "burst" under "ideal" thing, that's why I do a large file transfer test. I have learned a lot with this testing, especially from the feedback of you listers. I'm coming to the conclusion that the bus is the biggest limiting factor. So, that brings me to a few new questions. If the bus is the biggest limiting factor, would a raid give me any real speed boost? Am I basically correct that when I get my analog to digital convertor, it really won't make any difference which drive I save the digital stream to? Is there any way with this machine to take full advantage speedwise of my faster drives? STeve -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
