Hi all,

Installed the 4.5 GB in the 9500 on 9.1.

Drive didn't mount on the desktop.

Opened, "Mount Everything"
The Drive showed up as installed with ID 4 as planned.
Clicked "Mount"
The message: "The device is not ready"

Opened Apple HD Setup
New drive seems to be powering up, spinning beach ball busy,
and 4 or 5 "cluck or clack" sounds which then ceased.
But only my CD ROM and Boot Disk showed up as installed.
But maybe the 4.5 GB has to be "mounted" before HD Setup lists it??

Next. . . tried "Steadfast" utility.
This program seemed the most detailed.

Message: "The drive failed to perform a SCSI extended seek command"

Test result: Sense Key Info: "Hardware error".

Message:
"The partition map seems corrupted,
do you want to abort the mount attempt?"

One thing I did of interest when setting the jumpers was to "enable"
"Wait/Spin" which delays the normally immediate powering up of the drive.
Maybe shouldn't have enabled this??

Thanks,
Terry
